What is the difference between the 1992 and 2016 presidential politics? Aside from 24 years of the failed two-term presidencies of Clinton, Bush and Obama, not much. Both presidential candidates then and now spoke truth to power. Perot in 1992 garnered nearly 20% of the popular vote and nearly none of the electoral vote. What percentage of the popular/electoral vote will Donald Trump garner in 2016? Commonsense tells me not much more, because like Ross Perot, Donald Trump does not really want to be President of the United States of America; and who in their right mind can blame them? Both presidential candidates, then and now, are highly accomplished businessmen. They both know what they are talking about, as opposed to the establishment politician who has no clue about the real facts of life and how to lead. It has been a long time in the United States of America since a competent, informed leader has been elected to the presidency.
Will 2016 be different? I hope so, but commonsense tells me not to bet on it. For the sake of the United States of America, I hope and pray that I am wrong.
Good Day and better days are coming, I hope and pray!
