Why is it that a businessman, however successful, has never been elected President of the United States of America? Ross Perot was the last to try… and his supporters, which numbered nearly 19% of the popular vote in 1992, were responsible for electing Bill Clinton, who garnered only 37% of the popular vote in that year, ushering in the unfortunate political history and decline of the United States of America over the last 23 years.
Commonsense tells me that businessmen are generally unsuccessful in politics because they do not know how to garner votes. The real political power resides in people who do know how to garner votes from a largely ignorant populace. These people come from the professional political class. What else explains why successful businessmen contribute heavily to both political parties? They contribute to both sides because they cannot afford not to and risk being in disfavor of the party in power. The successful businessman must always be on the winning side because he realizes he has no real political power in his own right because he does not know how to garner votes.
Donald Trump is no different! While he speaks truth to power, his run for the Presidency is not serious… an arrogant, comical show which will soon collapse, hopefully, or like Ross Perot’s campaign in 1992 result in the election of another Clinton and the further decline of the United States of America.
Good Day and God Save America!
